Anushka Sharma will spend her first post-marriage Valentine’s Day with her on-screen love interest Varun Dhawan instead of hubby Virat Kohli. Sources say that the two begin the shoot of the forthcoming film Sui Dhaaga — Made In India on the day when the world celebrates love. The movie, directed by Sharat Katariya (of Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame), has Varun playing a tailor, while Anushka essays a self-reliant embroiderer. The two actors have been participating in workshops as part of the prep for their characters.
The story, as the title suggests, is rooted in the Indian milieu giving a nod to PM Narendra Modi’s Make In India initiative and celebrating the spirit of self-reliance. However, at the heart of it is a love story between the lead actors.
Producer Maneesh Sharma says, “Love often blossoms amidst shared hopes and common aspirations. In Sui Dhaaga, the lead characters empower themselves by fighting against all odds in unison and find incredible love and respect for each other while following a common vision of self-reliance. Like everything in the film, it’s a love story that is truly Made In India. It is only apt that the film is starting on a day that celebrates true love.”
